I am sure you have all been there, sitting in the room with many other would be investors listening to very polished presenters tell you how you can set yourself up for life by investing in property. The only problem is as soon as you leave the presentation, real life hurdles get in the way of you moving forward…..sound familiar!
Our speaker for this month doesn’t have all the answers that will ensure you will be living it up in the Bahamas in the next 5 years, but she does have the drive and tenacity it takes to create for herself a very impressive property portfolio that any property investor would be proud to have on their books. You don’t get to this stage unless you have come up against many of the hurdles that we as investors face on the road to our investing goals.
This month we are going to mix things up a little and have an interactive presentation led by one of our long term attendees Julie Taylor. Julie has been living off her property portfolio for over 5 years and continues to be an active investor using a myriad of strategies. She is methodical in her approach to property investing and has a genuine interest in fostering “real conversations” by everyday investors with the aim of overcoming the roadblocks that stop us moving forward.
The night will be broken up into a couple of sessions, the first will focus on Living off Property (something that Julie has successfully achieved) and this will be an interactive session. The aim of this session is to have a conversation style presentation which delves into the real world problems that we as investors face when trying to make a living from property. Here Julie will lead a discussion about;
- What are the roadblocks or issues you believe are stopping you moving forward e.g. finance, lack of knowledge, time, confidence etc…
- What investing questions keep you up at night
- What would you like out of your investing and why
- Building your property portfolio
- Capital growth vs. Income and Getting the right mix in your portfolio
- Banks, and the issues full time investors come up against
So before you come along we would like you to have a think about the above and take 5 minutes to jot down a few notes, comments or questions for discussion; (the more you put into this the more you we will all get out of it).
The final session will cover a Blueprint for Repeatable Property Developments. Julie has been putting together a strategy that will enable her to take her investing to the next level by completing multiple development projects with the least amount of capital she can. Her solid approach and detailed planning has enabled her to gain a lot of knowledge on what is possible and what hurdles need to be overcome. This session will generate some interesting questions and will hopefully give everyone and idea of what is possible when you get creative with your investing….
