As most or all of you would be aware the Perth market has been slowing down recently and a recent NAB report suggested that this would be the case for the next one to two years with negative growth likely. So it’s time to think a little differently on HOW you invest and even perhaps WHERE you invest…
For this month’s meeting we have two of our home grown talents (and two regulars to the meeting) presenting to the group on what they have done and how they have done it. This is no theory session, its real life case studies so there is no reason cannot be applied by YOU. I know I am very interested in finding out more.
Onto the speakers, first we have Julie Taylor.
Julie has been investing in property in both the commercial and residential space for many years and in fact lives off the income from her investing, yes Julie gave up the corporate game some years ago. Julie has a passion for investing and working out how to make things happen. Julie will be talking about a development deal that she sourced and is managing in BRISBANE (one of the areas stated to grow by the NAB and recently by Steve McKnight). Julie will cover:
- How the deal was found
- How due diligence was performed
- How it is being managed including her team interstate and locally
- How the team was put together
- The structure of the deal
- How the deal is progressing
This session will give you some insight into what is possible out of WA and how to make it work. The second speaker will be Varun Malhotra.
Varun is also another regular at the meetings. Varun has his own approach to developing which involves profits without the construction, thus saving time and money. Varun focuses on subdivisions of 2 to 3 lots, something achievable for most people, however, he uses house and land packages so does not have the construction costs to worry about. In ONLY two and a half years he is on project number FOUR, that’s what I call on a roll.
Varun will be talking about:
- How he got started
- How his projects work
- His mindset
- Examples of what he has done
- The numbers
- And much more
This is going to be a great session with lots of information you can use NOW for both new and experienced investors and as always a great opportunity for networking. We look forward to seeing you there.
