This month we have two totally different subjects both having a similar outcome, maximising your returns. Subject one being accounting and subject two being overseas investing, you ask how does this relate to returns, good question… Well… You need to have the right structures in place to make sure you minimise your tax, the less you pay the better the returns… Overseas investing, from a sneak peek at the content it certainly looks like our speaker is getting a better return than what we get here in terms of rental yield, and when I say better, I mean a LOT better…
This Month’s Speakers
The first speaker of the night is Lilian Fisher who is a Partner at Chan & Naylor a national accounting firm. Lilian is a CPA and registered tax agent who has over 20 years of experience working in various industries including retail, manufacturing, accounting and finance both locally and overseas from large multinational companies to medium and small businesses.
The last 10 years of experience has been as a principal in public practice providing taxation, accounting, asset protection, wealth creation and business advisory services to
individuals and SME’s with a focus on property.
Lillian will be working through some case studies to discuss the best structures and measures to minimise your tax when buying and selling property. We often focus on ways to make the most money out of a deal but it is just as important if not more to make sure you are structured right otherwise you could potentially be losing a lot of the money you make.
The second speaker for the night is Tony Friday. Tony has a diverse range of interests and experiences. He currently serves as a government CEO, and has held a portfolio of corporate directorships spanning international consulting, property investment, disability services and contemporary theatre. Tony is the Chairman of Red Earth Property LLC, an investment fund that holds residential assets in the US and the Philippines.
In his spare time, Tony is an avid adventure traveller and has bobsledded an Olympic track in Latvia, surfed a volcano in Nicaragua, motorcycled across the Sahara desert, and stayed as the guest of an African king. He has visited more than a hundred countries over the past few decades; and now regrets many of these experiences because his two young children seem to share the same thirst for adventure.
His presentation today will discuss the nut-and-bolts of investing in residential property in the Philippines and the types of returns you definitely cannot get here in Australia.
It will be another great and informative night and as always this will also be a great opportunity for networking. We look forward to seeing you there.
