Everyone has heard the story of a difficult development to get through or an extension on a house that was held up in council, but did you know about Residential Code applications that are privately certified and bypass council to be approved in 10 days?
Our speaker this month is Matt Falconer, town planner, CEO and founder of Urban Planning and Design. Having experienced first hand the frustrations of first time, and even experienced developers, with project delays incurred through the Council approval process, Matt set out to provide a service that manages this process for clients time efficiently and effectively. Matt is a qualified planner, and oversees the design process as well as ensuring the appropriate documentation is complied and submitted therefore reducing delays.
Prior to establishing Urban Planning & Design in 2014, Matt had six years experience working in Local Government as a planner followed by six years experience working in the private sector. As a planner in Local Government his role was to undertake assessments of a variety of types of residential, commercial and industrial development. His experience in the private sector has involved working with a local building company as well as a well-known Adelaide based property development company.
Since establishing Urban Planning and Design he has provided advice and his services to a number of Adelaide’s well-known building companies, small to medium property developers and individuals.
With increasing price sensitivity in relation to construction costs, he also provides a building tender service. This allows our clients to obtain the best, fixed price from the builder rather than relying on provisional sums throughout the contract, which can lead to costs overruns.
Matt has a passion for property development and has completed a number of his own projects. He enjoys working with people who have similar goals and most importantly understand their needs. It has been his experience with his own projects that obtaining the right advice and information and engaging the right people for the right job is paramount.
