This month, we are very fortunate to have both Joanne Verikios and Ian Grayson present to the Brisbane Property Meeting on property renovating, including some great tips and tricks, as well as some traps that can be encountered when renovating. They will also illustrate this through a Real Deal… or more!
Ian and Joanne will reveal how renovations can manufacture value. You will learn the difference between renovation and restoration, how to add more perceived value than dollars spent, how to find a good renovation prospect, how to crunch the numbers, how to sell for a profit and all the steps in between. You will also see some amazing transformations with before and after photographs.
Joanne was born in Toowoomba and grew up with a passion for leaving things better than she finds them. Not surprisingly, this characteristic stands her in good stead as a renovator! She has bought and sold real estate for profit in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. She has conducted renovations, often remotely, in four out of five of those locations.
Closer to home, Joanne has renovated for fun and profit in the Redlands suburbs of Capalaba and Cleveland, including joint venture projects in collaboration with Ian.
Ian has been an active property investor for more than 10 years and has bought and sold property in Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania. During that time, he has followed a range of strategies including subdivisions, new builds and renovations, and has completed a number of joint venture projects with Joanne.
Ian enjoys the challenge of spotting diamonds in the rough and adding value through cosmetic renovation. He’s also keen to share stories about what he has learnt along the way.
If time permits, there will be some structured networking being offered, following Jo’s and Ian’s presentation.
Registration is from 6.30 pm for a 7.00pm start. Finish around 9.00 pm.
Enjoy a meal at the Club before the meeting (from 5.30pm) and/or a drink afterwards.
Please bring pen and paper as you’ll want to take plenty of notes, plus business cards! This is also a great opportunity to ask questions of the presenters and other participants. You might also want to bring a jacket, in case the room gets a little cool.

I look forward to seeing you there.
