We are fortunate to welcome Eddie Cheung and Paul Rafton, prominent experts from the accounting and advisory firm, BDO to present to the group on how you can invest in property, utilising a self managed superannuation fund.
Eddie Cheung is a partner within BDO and provides business and taxation advice to a diverse range of clients. He also facilitates courses on finance and corporate governance for the Australian Institute of Company Directors. One of Eddie’s key specialisations is in the real estate and construction industry, which includes property development and construction, commercial and residential property investment and managed property funds and trusts. He is also a director of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland, chair of Bric Housing Limited and been involved in executive roles in the not-for-profit sector for more than 15 years.
Paul Rafton is a Superannuation partner with BDO in Brisbane, with over 20 years’ experience in Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs). He advises clients on compliance issues and techniques to enhance and protect their retirement savings. He is a Foundation member of Small Independent Superannuation Funds Australia and has a wealth of experience relevant to property investing.
Paul’s and Eddie’s presentation will give you an overview of how you can use your SMSF to invest in property, and the requirements, legislation and tax implications around property investments within Super.
