Thursday 2 May – Planning Policy Changes and Future Rezoning: where are the next areas for profit?

Planning policies control the development potential for areas are a big factor on whether developing will be profitable in an area. There have been a number of changes to planning policy over the last year, which have the potential to disrupt certain development strategies and open up new opportunities. We will be exploring these changes at our May networking meeting.

This month, we will have a town planning expert, Bianca Sandri from Urbanista Town Planning, presenting on a number of policy changes that are crucial for property investors to understand. She will cover:

  • An explanation of Performance Criteria and how they relate to new policy direction
  • A brief overview of Design WA and the plans to extend this to medium density development (important for small developers)
  • Plans for future re-zoning and which areas to target before they are implemented

About Your Speaker

Bianca graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Urban and Regional Planning) Honours degree and holds business qualifications. She has extensive Local Government experience, including statutory planning, strategic planning, planning and building compliance, State Administrative Tribunal appeals and Council.

Bianca has worked with a number of local governments such as the City of Vincent, City of Bayswater, Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and Town of Victoria Park, and believes her extensive Local Government experience provides her clients with an edge when navigating the statutory planning process.

Bianca currently serves as a Councillor for City of Stirling and Tamala Park Regional Council and is a Metro North-West Joint Development Assessment Panel Member. Bianca is also an executive board member of the Town Team Movement.
