This month, we are very fortunate to have Michael Shekell and Steve Brennan from Builder Brokers present to the Brisbane Property Meeting on how to de-risk your next development and construction project .
Both Micahel and Steve have a wealth of experience in the Australian Construction and Property Development Industry. Michael honed his skills in England’s West Country, completing many new and re-establishment projects using local materials, skills and styles before returning to take up a National Sales Manager for a leading non bank finance brokerage firm specialising in commercial, development and residential lending. This led him to find his passion for ‘all things build related’, where he worked with many construction companies and home builders who developed sites, custom owner occupier homes, inner city lots and undertook renovations. Michael himself is also an active investor/developer in his own right. He is a founding member of Builder Brokers.
Steve Brennan has been working in the property and construction industry for the last 21 years in Queensland, combined with relevant formal qualifications that have set him up well to pursue a property investing and development. He is also a licenced principal real estate agent. Steve’s experience embraces the full spectrum of property development and management, having previously held development manager roles with successful property developers. Since 2011 Steve has owned and managed his own property consulting business delivering custom houses, townhouses, units and child care centres. He also sources off market property development sites for clients as a buyer’s agent throughout South East Queensland
Michael and Steve will outline how to de-risk your next development and construction project, which might also include renovations, subdivisions and townhouse developments. They will describe some of the pitfalls on the way, how to get the best out of contractors, financiers and consultants and how the newly emerging profession of builder brokers can help you to create profitable projects within acceptable timeframes and budgets.
There will be time for questions and this will be followed by some structured networking.
