This month we are thrilled to have Henry Davis an Associate Solicitor at Cartland Law & Co. who specialises in Tax Law and Trust Law.
Focusing on tax basics from a developer’s perspective this session is intended to improve your basic tax knowledge and give you the tools to identity areas of potential risk or opportunity. Land Tax, Structuring, Revenue/Capital Account, Principal Place of Residence exemptions, GST will all be covered. In particular we will look at the new Land Tax Rules and how to structure owning property going forward. We will look at what vehicles to use when investing as well as some of the traps that often arise.
This session is suitable for those looking to gain a greater appreciation of taxation in general as well as those wanting to update their knowledge.

Henry Davis is an Associate Solicitor at Cartland Law & Co. specialising in Tax Law and Trust Law. In particular he provides advice on State taxes such as Land Tax, as well as Income and Capital Gains Tax, GST, and trust law. Providing advice to accountants, small and large developers and Australian companies exporting overseas. Business structuring, asset protection, Objections with the ATO and RevenueSA comprises the core of Henry’s work. Studying a Masters of Taxation at Melbourne University, Henry is also a councillor at the City of Burnside Council and a Volunteer Firefighter.

Staying Covid Safe
Please do not attend in person if you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, have been in contact with a known infected person in the past 3 weeks or have travelled from interstate or overseas in the past 3 weeks. The wearing of a face mask is welcomed but not compulsory. Please maintain 1.5 metres at all times and refrain from hand shaking.
